Web2SE 2010: First Workshop on Web 2.0 for Software Engineering 2010

May 4, 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa

Call for Papers

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

The program is organized in four sessions:

  • How Web 2.0 is Used in Software Engineering

  • Mining Software Repositories and Web 2.0

  • Interactive Panel Discussion (with audience participation)

  • Towards Web 2.0 Tools for Software Engineering

In three sessions a total of eight position papers will be presented and discussed by all participants. Per paper, there will be 10 minutes of presentation by the authors, followed by discussion initiated by a number of questions carefully prepared in advance by one or two workshop participants, as well as free format discussion with all participants. For a list of accepted papers, visit the Web2SE website at http://sites.google.com/site/web2se/.

In addition to that, an interactive panel will be organized, where, in a rotating format, all workshop participants will act as both panelist and audience. The panel will incorporate actual experiences from all participants in the use of Web 2.0 technologies for software engineering, and aims to unravel avenues for successful adoption as well as future research.

Throughout the day we will take notes and share our findings by means of several Web 2.0 technologies, including the @web2se Twitter account as well as those of any of the participants. The findings will be collected in an online report, covering best practices, success stories, caveats, and a research agenda for the use of Web 2.0 technologies in software engineering.

At the end of the day all workshop participants are invited to join in an informal dinner (at their own costs) to reflect on the workshop’s outcomes and implications.
