publications: - title: "Working Space Representation for the Human Upper Limb in Motion" author: - name: "Antoanela Naaji" link: "http://cs.uvvg.ro/site/files/cv/Naaji_en.pdf" year: "2008" abstract: "Theoretically speaking, the modelling process is based on developing a model representing all properties of an object or phenomenon corresponding to the purpose of the analysis. To this effect, carrying out a virtual model of the human body consists of representing its main characteristics, as close to reality as possible. Motive activities of the human upper limb result from the motion of kinematical chains made by skeletal elements connected by joints. The aim of this paper is to describe the human upper limb as a kinematical structure similar to that of a robot with five degrees of freedom for which we apply the conventions of Robotics, obtaining the kinematical model of the human upper limb. In this case, the arm has three degrees of freedom in the shoulder joint, the forearm one degree of freedom in the elbow joint and the hand one degree of freedom in the radiocarpal joint. The kinematical equations of motion obtained are parametric and express the position and orientation of the hand in relation to a fixed reference frame. One of the most important applications of parametric representation of the systems is the working space modelling described by the end of the kinematical chain during the motion. The approach to hyper-surfaces modelling is based on the direct geometric model considering the human upper limb as a kinematical structure similar to that of a robot. For generating the surfaces in which the end-effector of the human upper limb moves, we applied certain specific functions of the Matlab program. The scientific and technological progress, the achievements in the fields of informatics and biotechnologies, the spread of the means of communication, the development of new sources of energy are only a few of the road-opening achievements. The development of a global economy has implications on all aspects characterizing the new society, one of the most important of them being education. Today’s education is different from that of yesterday. The dynamism characterizing it shows the need for re-thinking our concepts in this new scenario. Education no longer means merely instruction, but a whole social process connected with work, productivity and economy. Starting from these premises, education is efficient when it ensures valid qualification worldwide and complete formation of human personality. The aim of the paper is to present general aspects regarding e-learning as a top priority in the knowledge society where new forms and level of competition emerge. Also it refers to the characteristics necessary to a web-based system for ensure the high level of quality, the general steps of implementation an e-learning system and a study case based on “Vasile Goldiş” Western University experience in implementation of such systems. They allow expressing event-based multi-agent, providing environment, and messaging, execution and sensor services. The development of agent based applications is difficult, suffering from insufficient standards and tools and on the other hand deployment issues are little researched and supported. The cooperation in multi-agent systems is one of the most important features that can be understood in many ways. In the paper is suggested that the designers must make the cooperation possible using appropriate tools. Urban traffic problems are very complex and highly interactive. The multi-agent systems (MAS) approach may however provide a new hopeful direction. Ontology is a mandatory concept in MAS. A simulation system is needed to understand and explore the difficulties in a MAS-based traffic control. In the paper we propose a model of a multi-agent system which is responsible for a map of a network of routes. The paper showcases a number of results regarding the static and dynamic analysis of some biomechanical components by using the finite element method (FEM). Models, representing parts of the human upper limb, have been studied using static trials. Considering the fact that we wish to emphasize the way in which such analyses can be done with a finite element method, we shall present only a few relevant examples for which we have experimental data, namely: analysis of the compression, bending and stretching of the humerus and bending of the radius and the ulna. Another study was carried out in order to determine the dynamic behavior of the model for total arm prosthesis, using FEM. The models were created with the aid of the SolidWorks program and the trials with the HyperMesh program. The main goal of this conference was to build and maintain a community of Romanian eLearning experts, and to promote the advantages of free open source software (FOSS), mainly within the Romanian educational system. The participants, teachers and students coming from different schools in the country took active place in the workshop debates. In 2006, a satellite IT contest for student teams was introduced, with a closed topic. Models, representing parts of the human upper limb, have been studied using static trials. Another study was carried out in order to determine the dynamic behavior of the model for total arm prosthesis. The models have been created with the aid of the SolidWorks program and the trials with the HyperMesh program. Considering the fact that we wish to emphasize the way in which such analyses can be done with a finite element method, from meshing to the obtaining of results, as well as their comparison to the results obtained experimentally, we shall present only a few relevant examples for such studies." tags: - "program analysis" - "meta programming" - "meta-model" - "modeling" - "analysis" - "static analysis" - "Meta-Environment" researchr: "https://researchr.org/publication/NaajiGherghel2009" cites: 0 citedby: 0 pages: "71-76" kind: "inproceedings" key: "NaajiGherghel2009" - title: "Fuzzy Evaluation of Students’ Competences" author: - name: "Eugene Roventa" link: "http://www.yorku.ca" - name: "Antoanela Naaji" link: "http://cs.uvvg.ro/site/files/cv/Naaji_en.pdf" - name: "Alexandru Blaga" link: "http://www.uvvg.ro" year: "2010" abstract: "The importance and the role of fuzzy evaluation topics in the domain of evaluation of learning performance are discussed. Dynamic modeling of osteoarticular system is necessary because the exertion of various actions and natural physiological movements are essentially dynamic. Very often we use a simplified model because the phenomena produced are so complex that accurate mathematical reproduction is practically impossible. A dynamic model must provide a good estimate of total weight and mass distribution as well as transmissibility and amortization proprieties for bones, muscles, joints, blood and skin. The paper presents a dynamic functional model considering the human upper limb as a mechanic system with 5 degrees of freedom in the case the segments are moved by their own weight forces. The bones and the muscles were modeled in Solid Works, the model of the upper limb obtained being very close as form to the real one. Based on this model, the calculus of mass proprieties was made. The differential equations of motion obtained were solved using Lagrange formalism." tags: - "rule-based" - "meta-model" - "modeling" - "Meta-Environment" researchr: "https://researchr.org/publication/Naaji2008-4" cites: 0 citedby: 0 journal: "Wseas Transactions on Computers" volume: "7" number: "7" pages: "1030-1039" kind: "article" key: "Naaji2008-4" - title: "Using Moodle Environment in Online Assessments" author: - name: "Antoanela Naaji" link: "http://cs.uvvg.ro/site/files/cv/Naaji_en.pdf" - name: "Mihai Jalobeanu" link: "https://researchr.org/alias/mihai-jalobeanu" - name: " Cosmin Herman " link: "https://researchr.org/alias/cosmin-herman" year: "2007" tags: - "meta-model" - "Meta-Environment" - "meta-objects" researchr: "https://researchr.org/publication/NaajiJalobeanuHerman2007" cites: 0 citedby: 0 kind: "inproceedings" key: "NaajiJalobeanuHerman2007"
