About Bernhard Riedl

From 1998 until today Dr. Bernhard Riedl has been working as self-employed Consultant, Software Project Manager and Researcher (latter from 2004) for different national and international customers in the industry and the Austrian government. His research focuses mainly on Security and Privacy in Information Systems and Agile Software Project Management.

From 2006 to 2007 Bernhard was a project manager and researcher at Secure Business Austria (SBA). At this time he developed a novel architecture to secure sensitive data in the health sector by the appliance of pseudonymization for which he has been granted a patent.

In 2009 he moved to Thailand and became the Head of Information Systems Engineering (ISE) department at Asian University, Chon Buri, where he stayed until 2010.

From 2011 to 2014 Bernhard was employed at E-Quadrat communications in Vienna as the Head of Architecture and Development where he setup and enforced an agile development process based on the Scrum framework.

From 2015 to 2017 he worked in the travel and tourism industry as the Head of Architecture and Development at Restplatzbörse GmbH in Vienna. In 2018 Bernhard held the position of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the corporate group Restplatzbörse GmbH and Reisebüro Kuoni GmbH.

Since 2019 Bernhard contributes as Senior Scientist to the research at Danube University Krems, Department for E-Governance and Administration.
