Pieter Van Gorp's Profile

About Pieter Van Gorp

Pieter Van Gorp develops techniques for the transformation of business process models, with a particular focus on the health-care domain. Van Gorp uses models that have either been created by health-care professionals or models that are the result of process mining on HIS system logs. This ensures that his results are based on real-life problems.

Van Gorp has practical experience with industrial standards such as UML (class and activity diagrams), BPMN (version 2) and QVT (relations). He is currently focussing on automatic abstraction techniques and BPMN semantics.

Since his research heavily relies on complex software engineering tools and on models that often cannot be made available for public download, Van Gorp has built SHARE, a system that facilitates research reproducibility.
