About Thieme Hennis

Thieme Hennis graduated at Delft University of Technology in 2007 on a research that focused on developing a sustainable online and institutional environment for open educational resources. This report has been used for the strategy of the Open Courseware project at the TU Delft. He presented his work at the 2009 ED-MEDIA conference in Vienna.

After graduation he joined social software startup PEERS in the Hague. His main activities included design and implementation of social software, consulting, and organizing events. PEERS Interaction system develops profiles of users based on their contributions in online communities. Based on usage of contributed content (reading/tagging/commenting/rating), the value of content is determined, and likewise, the relative value of the person responsible for that content.

After a year working at PEERS, Thieme applied for a PhD position at the TU Delft, to be able to focus more on these types of interaction mechanisms, and the meaning they have within communities.
