Abstract

The rapid development of information technologies has deep implications on the evolution of many domains, one of them being biomechanics. Designing 3D models of the human musculoskeletal components with the use of advanced software, computer –aided analysis of three dimensional reconstruction of radiographs and applications of computed tomographic images in analyses, simulation and design of a wide variety of orthopedic reconstructive procedures, are only a few examples. The aim of this paper is to present several methods of designing 3D models of human skeleton parts and their application in designing the 3D model of the humerus. The paper also highlights the advantages of using 3D models in biomechanics and medicine.
