About Willem-Paul Brinkman

I was born on the 30th of December, 1970, in Middelburg (The Netherlands). From 1984 to 1988 I attended Junior Technical School “Klarenbeek LTS”. The next step was an Intermediate Technical School “MTS Vlissingen”. Here I studied technical informatics from 1988 to 1991. I continued my study at Technical College Eindhoven. In 1995 I received there a B.Sc. in information technology. In the same year, I started to study Technology & Society at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. In 1998 I graduated with a project that was set at Philips Centre for Manufacturing Technology. During my university study I also had a parttime job at the usability lab of the Rabobank. As of September 1998, I became a Ph.D. student. First at IPO- Center for User-system interaction and later at the department of Technology Management.

From February 2003 to December 2007, I worked as a lecturer at Brunel University, School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics, UK. In 2004 I obtained my Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (PGCert), at Brunel University. In 2007 I moved back to The Netherlands, but remain an associate researcher at Brunel University. In August 2007 I started as an assistant professor at Delft University of Technology in the Section Man-Machine Interaction.
